Another Police Brutality Story

http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-nation/wp/2015/04/08/following-horrible-tragedy-south-carolina-mayor-pledges-body-cameras-for-all-police/

In yet another story where a white police officer has killed an unarmed African American man some action is finally being taken. After a traffic stop a South Carolinan officer by the name Slager shot and killed a 50 year old African American man named Scott for no apparent reason. The officer initially said he tried to use his taser and that he had been struck by Scott and that's when he used deadly force. However, his story was quickly proven wrong by a video given to the Scott family that shows Slager reaching for his gun and firing six shots into Scott's back. With this evidence, Slager has been arrested and convicted of murder. The police chief Slager worked under has now issued that all officers will soon have body cameras that record all their actions to avoid another tragedy like this one.

I personally think there is a problem with the way police officers profile African American men and seem to, unnecessarily, use lethal force and claim their innocence. With a noticeable quantity of stories like this one coming to light recently, I believe there may possibly be a problem with the system itself. The police chief who ordered that all officers will now have body cams has made the right decision to avoid future problems and I think other cities should follow suit. Body cams for officers would indeed cost a substantial quantity of taxpayer money, but if they can prove wrongdoing and possibly save lives, then I think that they should be federal law.

What's your opinion on stories like this and should police officers have body cams? Fight with me about it in the comments. Ltr evrybdy
